Bandung is known for its Art Deco architecture and its beautiful surroundings, which can be reached after crossing the beautiful Puncak Pass and its tea fields. Tangkuban Perahu area, populated with volcanoes, offers beautiful views from the top and Kawah Domas with fumaroles and bubbling pools of water. Dieng Plateau, located 2,000 meters above sea level, offers beautiful scenery, Hindu and Buddhist temples, the Telaga Warna Lake, the Kawah Sikidang crater, and the Sembungan Mountain for sunrise views. Yogyakarta is the soul of the island, its artistic and intellectual center, and the first tourist city, where most of the traditions and rituals are preserved. Prambanan is the largest Hindu temple complex in Java, and Borobudur is home to the colossal 9th-century Buddhist temple.
